The following article walks you step by step through setting up Active Directory with your Circula account. Microsoft Entra ID (former name Azure Active Directory) provides the ability to log in via Single Sign-On (SSO) using SAML 2.0.

If you want to enable Microsoft Entra ID Single Sign-On for your employees, you can do part of the setup yourself. To do this, please contact our customer service first. You will receive a so-called "company_identifier" from us as soon as possible, which you can then use to start the setup.

Setup

In the Microsoft Entra home screen, find and click on the right option to get started.

In the Microsoft Entra ID menu, add Circula as a new application:

  1. To do this, click on "Enterprise applications"

  2. Then click on "New applications"

  3. Select "Non-gallery application".

A side window like the one shown in the screenshot below will open:

Now give the new application a name. We suggest that you simply name the new application "Circula". Click Add to confirm.

Active Directory will begin creating the new Circula application. When this process is complete, you will be redirected to the Circula App overview.

Now click on "2. Set up single sign-on":

Click on SAML:

This will open the following window: "Set up Single Sign-On with SAML", where you can configure the integration:

Click on the edit button of the first section Basic SAML Configuration to open the left window:

Enter the following information:

Press Save to confirm your changes.

❗️Note that the "company_identifier" is provided to you in advance during the Circula setup phase.

Next, click on Download Federation Metadata XML:

Done, send the downloaded file to your contact at Circula. We will complete the integration for you as soon as possible.

Add Users

Once the integration process is complete, you can now add users to Circula.

To add users, go to the "Users and Groups" section:

From there, you can add new users by clicking Add User and following your system's instructions.

❗️Please note that Microsoft Entra ID Single Sign-On is only available for Users with a Professional plan.

❗️Please note, in order for Microsoft Entra ID Single Sign-On to function smoothly long term, customers must log directly in to Microsoft Entra every 90 days❗️
