What is the Voucher Benefit?

With Circula's voucher benefit, employees receive up to €50 more in net salary each month, provided as tax-free vouchers. These can be redeemed at numerous partner shops throughout Germany, based on personal preference.

How to use the Voucher Benefit?

Important!

  • Vouchers can only be requested until the 20th of each calendar month. Make sure to observe this deadline and choose your voucher in time.

In the Web App

Open your Circula App and navigate to the "Benefits" tab.

  1. Click on the yellow plus at the bottom right and select "Voucher".

  2. A new window will open with a short explanation of how to use the voucher benefit. On the right-hand side, you will see an overview of available voucher partners.

  3. Click through the voucher options to see more details. Here, you can check whether the voucher can be redeemed online, in-store, or both.

  4. Choose a voucher, click on it, and confirm your selection at the bottom right. Then confirm again.

  5. The voucher will initially be marked as "Coming Soon" until it is released by Circula's voucher partner.
    This process may take a few minutes to several days, depending on the shop. If it's not immediately usable, it’s still being prepared and will be redeemable shortly.

  6. Once ready, the voucher status changes to "Ready to use", and it can now be redeemed at the selected partner shop either online or in-store.

  7. In your Benefits overview, click your voucher to view all relevant details.

    • If you have a voucher that can be redeemed online at a partner shop, use the voucher code and/or PIN code to redeem it. To do so, go to the respective online shop and enter the required voucher code and PIN code, or just the voucher code or just the PIN code, during checkout.

    • If the voucher is redeemable in-store, you can download it as a "Voucher PDF" and redeem it directly on-site. Simply show the voucher at the relevant store during your purchase to redeem it.

  8. As soon as you have redeemed your voucher, you have the option to mark it as "Redeemed" in the Circula App. To do this, please select the voucher that you have already redeemed and click on "Redeemed" at the bottom of this voucher. This step is optional.

In the mobile app

  1. Tap on "Benefits", then the yellow plus, and choose "Voucher".

  2. A new window will open with usage instructions and available partner shops.

  3. Click on voucher options to explore them. You'll see if they’re valid online, in-store, or both.

  4. Select your voucher, confirm it twice, as in the web app.

  5. As with the web version, the voucher will show as "Coming Soon" until released by the partner. This may take minutes or hours.

  6. Once ready, the voucher status changes to "Ready to use", and it can now be redeemed at the selected partner shop either online or in-store.

  7. In your Benefits overview, click your voucher to view all relevant details.

    • If you have a voucher that can be redeemed online at a partner shop, use the voucher code and/or PIN code to redeem it. To do so, go to the respective online shop and enter the required voucher code and PIN code, or just the voucher code or just the PIN code, during checkout.

    • If the voucher is redeemable in-store, you can download it as a "Voucher PDF" and redeem it directly on-site. Simply show the voucher at the relevant store during your purchase to redeem it.

  8. As soon as you have redeemed your voucher, you have the option to mark it as "Redeemed" in the Circula App. To do this, please select the voucher that you have already redeemed and click on "Redeemed" at the bottom of this voucher. This step is optional.

The voucher has been ordered and is being processed. Usually ready in minutes. Sometimes it can take longer.

Ready to use

The voucher is ready and can be used.

Redeemed

The status "Redeemed" is displayed when the voucher has been redeemed. Important: To display this status, vouchers must be manually set to "Redeemed" in the app.

Frequently asked questions

What qualifies as a voucher benefit and can be purchased via vouchers?

Voucher benefits are legally defined as goods and services with monetary value that are not paid out as salary. In this case, vouchers are acquired through third-party providers and redeemed for products/services in partner shops.

They cannot be exchanged for cash or salary. As of 01.01.2022, vouchers from online marketplaces like Amazon or Zalando are no longer considered voucher benefits.

Can vouchers be requested via the Mobile App?

Yes, the voucher benefit can be used via both the Web and Mobile App.

What happens if we use more or fewer vouchers than agreed with Circula? How will we be billed?

For the billing of voucher amounts, we proceed as follows: for each company that has booked the voucher benefit, we always maintain the volume of one month of the agreed usage on the balance.

If you use less than the agreed amount, we invoice the difference between the agreed and the actual amount used.

If you exceed the agreed amount, we invoice the excess amount used, ensuring that the fixed agreed amount always remains in the account.

Until when can vouchers be requested in the app?

Vouchers can be requested up to the 20th of each calendar month.

Note

  • If no selection is made by the 20th, you’ll automatically receive the same voucher as the previous month, if you ordered one then. This function will be activated on September 1, 2024.
